Ducont
nominated Finalist at the Microsoft EMEA RAD Awards 2004!
Ducont's Mobile Bill Presentment and Payments (MBPP) solution
has been nominated Finalist at the Microsoft EMEA RAD Awards 2004
under the 'Best Use of .NET Technology' category. This award will
recognize the best use of Microsoft .NET technologies such as
the .NET Framework, .NET Enterprise Servers and Visual Studio.NET.
About MBPP
Utility companies, banks and consumers do not have an appropriate
'anytime anywhere' platform that provides an opportunity to transact/trade
in small to medium utility payments. There is a need for a payment
mechanism that will allow the mobile user community to make utility
payments on the move even for small values.
Ducont's Mobile Bill Presentment and Payments is the ideal solution
to address these issues and promote mobile commerce using the
latest wireless technology.
The bilingual (Arabic and English) solution enhances delivery
and transaction capabilities, thus improving the relationship
between customers, banks and utility companies. Consumers can
securely and conveniently pay through their mobile phones or over
the Internet.
Ducont has developed this product for linking the financial institutions
and the retailers to a common platform. It relies on the use of
the Internet and wireless (SMS, WAP, GPRS and PDA) channels. Customers
would be alerted on the pending bills against them through SMS.
They can then initiate the payment transaction based on their
choice of the device (PC, phone or kiosk). The transaction integration
is secure and seamless between the utility company and the banks.
About the Awards
The Microsoft EMEA RAD (retail application development) Awards
are now in their 5th year and have become established as one of
the leading events in the retail technology calendar.
Since its inception, the RAD Awards programme has been designed
to recognise and honour the independent software vendors (ISVs)
and retailer IT departments who make the best use of Microsoft
technology to provide business value to retail organisations in
Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA).
