Ducont wins a nomination at the “Oscars of the
Mobile Industry”: The GSM Association Awards 2003.
Ducont
has been short-listed along with three other companies for the
Best Wireless Application or Service - Corporate Market
Award of the GSM Association Awards 2003. Far EasTone
Telecommunications Company (Taiwan), Sonera Corporation (Finland),
Telstra Corporation (USA) and O2 (UK) were the prestigious nominees
for the 2002 Awards in the same category (Far EasTone won the
award). Ericsson (Sweden), NTT DoCoMo (Japan), Orange (France)
and Network 365 (Ireland) are just some of the other celebrated
winners of the GSM Awards of 2002. The 2003 winner will be announced
at the GSM Awards, which is in its eighth year running. These
Awards are the leading international wireless industry honour
for achievement in technology and creativity.
The
GSM Association Awards 2003 are open to Network Operators, Application
Developers, Content Providers and all Manufacturers and suppliers
of products and services supporting the GSM family of wireless
platforms: GSM, GPRS, EDGE and W-CDMA (3GSM).
Selected by an independent panel of judges, the awards honour
winners across some 11 categories: Best Wireless Infrastructure
or Network Solution; Best Wireless Handset/Terminal; Best Corporate
Wireless Application or Service; Best Consumer Application or
Service; Best Application Developer; Best Marketing Campaign;
Best Television Commercial; Best Use of Wireless for Emergency
Services/Wireless Access; Mobile Communications International’s
Readers’ Award; The GSM Association’s Chairman’s
Award and the GSMA Roll of Honour.
The GSM Association’s Awards will be presented for the
eighth year in succession during the global wireless industry’s
leading annual event - the 3GSM World Congress in Cannes, France
in February 2003.
